The process layout and the selection of adding ingredients in the electric furnace melting department is a problem worthy of the attention of design institutes and foundries, because unreasonable layout and adding ingredients will directly lead to problems such as time-consuming, energy-consuming, unsafe, uneconomical and low efficiency after production in the future. We believe that the process layout must be considered from the following aspects:

If the feeding car is used for feeding, the electric control room and transformer of the electric furnace shall be placed under the electric furnace platform or on the side of the electric furnace platform. The daily consumption pool of metal charge must be set at the rear or side of the waiting position of the charging car to prevent the electromagnetic chuck from crossing over the working area of the electric furnace platform during the charging process, causing serious safety accidents to people and equipment due to power failure or vibration iron falling.
2. Requirements for design and selection of electromagnetic sucker batching crane:
Configuration requirements of electromagnetic sucker batching crane: firstly, the rail height should be sufficient, not only to ensure that the effective lifting height of the crane can meet the requirements of the electromagnetic sucker to be smoothly added into the feeding car (or feeding barrel) on the electric furnace platform after sucking. Generally, the height depends on the height of the electric furnace platform, the height of the feeding car, the length of the electromagnetic sucker hanging suction, the length of the wireless hook sensor, the safety margin, etc; secondly, the rated lifting weight of the crane must be greater than the dead weight of the electromagnetic chuck plus the maximum suction weight and leave sufficient safety margin.
